OAKLAND SCHOOLS
When all of us first started off in our special education journey it sounded like a foreign language. So many acronyms and references to therapies, diagnosis and treatments! Then we entered into the school system and they have their own set of terms. Sometimes this can vary between school districts. We hope these resources will help you navigate your child’s plan easier and give you better access to the people who can help you directly.

PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The Oakland County Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is comprised of parents of students with IEPs within Oakland County. Each school district and public school academy may assign two representatives to the PAC. If you would like to reach out to our Oakland Schools PAC Representatives for more information please send us an email.
The Oakland Schools PAC typically meets the first Wednesday each month (October through June) at Oakland Schools between 7:00-9:00 p.m. Meetings include membership work, legal updates, and training on various topics related to special education, and are open to the public.
